Thought you guys would like the picture: Its an Apfelbeck head that Roberto is testing on the flow bench.
This is done to gain data in order to be able to design the right cam(s) for it.
I don't know absolute flowfigures yet.
The throttlebody you see is a Jenvey one.
Just a recap: Overhead cam, two intake valves, one exhaust valve, twin sparkplugs.

That red dyed exh port looks like a crack waiting to happen!
I'd LOVE to see a type IV head that would flow 200 @26.

Was this Apfelbec head for the Type 4 engine? I assume it was, pretty damn cool....
Thanks for the numbers Alpine! great info!
Bobby, yes those pictured are for the type 4 head. Actually there is evidence that Apfelbeck also made casts for a two valve OHC type 1 heads, but have never seen one of those in the flesh.
Jake, I guess the game is on haha! Although I believe its not fair to compare OHC with pushrod operated heads.
Take care,
Walter

But be warned: Apfelbeck suggested that for race engines (those were Formula V days with 1600cc type 4's) two 39mm intakes and one 46mm exhaust vlaves should be used
Promises, promises.
Well, we all know sometimes you need some 'motivation' to move some items up your priority ladder LOL
