What are you using for MAIN bearings?????
This was the route I was going to go until I stumbled into trying to find main bearings.
Needless to say I went T4, But still would like to do a T5 but need another source or option for the bearings.

Type 5 is good BUT.......MAIN BEARINGS?????????
Hello,
There are a few outlet for bearings, mostly from europe.
Hopefully a stock will show up here in the states soon :~)
The bearing set for the 1.9 case is basically all Type I 'cept the Thrust.
The thrust is a Type IV W/ 1mm narrower crush on the thrust.
A std Type IV thrust bearing can be used with a 1 mm steel shim.
Unfortunatly Type IV bearing are a real PTA to find in different sizes too.
They are all getting kinda expensive.

I just checked with my local supplier.
He said the compuer shows a ton of 1.9 std and 1.9 under (crank) available.
He'll have to check on the over-size line bore sizes.
Says he thinks he has 2.1 bearings too.
I asked him to actually confirm their existance (go pull the fom the shelf).
Good, just in time. :~)
I'll know more on Monday...

Hi Marco,
Did you give C.S.P. a try?
I think they are in Germany, and they advertise all sizes and styles available on their site.

If not I can probably set you up.

Hi
A friend of mine used Toyota Celica mains in his 1.9 based oxyboxer, he had to still use the small nose cone bearing and he had to align bore the case for the Toyota mains.

T5J, can you supply the spacer? Do you use an oil scraper ring like use to be done on thrust cut T1s?

I do have a supply of the Type I style oil scraper rings used to "save" a thrust.
Actually I have some customers that insist on this Mod in their regular motors too.
They claim that it helps ditribute the load, the shim has more surface, the steel toughens up the case,...
The Type IV shims aren't as easy, I haven't found something "out of the box" that works.
I have been making these custom for each motor.
Tom, I should be able to supply you with bearings for your project, let me know what size crank you'll be running
Hopefully the bearing will be available in the future, so this won't be an issue.

I'll see what I can do...
You'll need a set of Std line-bore, std. thrust,-.010 crank, 1.9 bearings.
The center bearings you'll need to get from Berg, or one of the other Suppliers...

Your case actually *looks* pretty good in the center main area.
Better than at least 50% of the cases I've dealt with.
I would torque it up and check the bores in the tunnel.
If it measures good, I'd just run it 1st time around with a conversion bearing, Wasser Bearings elsewhere, ect...
You'll see a MUCH greater life expectancy due to the QUALITY shuffle pin job you've decided to go with. :~)
If you decide to line-bore it-
You'll have to go .020 over on the Type IV line bore, right off the start.
The thrust will need to be cut when you line bore the others. That's the only way to ensure that they align correctly.

We have about 60 sets of 1.9 & 2.1 Std & a bore brgs. About 4 months ago all of the west coast importers got a batch of these brgs in & they sold out very fast. Last time they had some was about 2 years ago. If anyone is looking for brgs Email me [email protected] We mod the correct brg for the T-1 to T-4 adapter. $40.00 set. We make the thrust shims out of bronze they work great. But are a pita to make. Thanks Rocky
