Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

If my IRS spring plate is resting on the stopper with the full weight of my sandrail on it,does this mean I have no more room left to raise the car for more ground clearance? If not, what next to go higher?

Yup, your currently maxed out.
DO Not, run it maxed out!!! this will make for a rough ride as there is no down travel to soak up the bumps. Could result in bent ot cracked spring plates.
Sure ride height is cool but ride quality is cooler. One should have at least 1/8-1/4" down travel to allow the suspension to work properly. You have to have some suspension droop.Your back will thank you.;-)
I have my baja set up with 1/8-1/4" down travel and it runs great on the rough stuff out prerunning desert races.

Possible solutions:
1.you could go with longer arms, this will get a bit more ride height. Will have to go longer axles too.
2 cut out stops and re-weld a little lower, would have to use higher angle CV's
3.There are alot of possibilities! it just depends on how thick the wallet is and what your fabrication abilities are.

I am getting (soon) 2.5 x 2.5 arms, will run type 4 cv and bus axles. This will even out the ride height after I install my thing front arms and spindles for 2.5" taller front ride. Should work well.

That makes a ton of sense! Now I understand why the rearend seems so stiff with very little give.I can build just about anything, but I never had a clue about these little Volkswagens.

Thanks Prerunner for the intel on various Mods.Is there a site that talks more in depth on the HOW TO end of what you suggested?
