An good fuel filter for single outlet tanks

Post by raygreenwood »

This is the filter that goes on my 2006 Jetta. http://www.yiparts.com/Part/en/PBXWS

It has two inlets and one outlet. It also is good to 4 bar in pressure. I am not 100% sure if it is internally regulated. It would be a perfect out of tank filter for injected cars with only one tank outlet. The return line would go to the outer outlet of the two on the end. Its right at 2" in diameter and about 4" long. The outlet end is teh single nipple end. Its Mann # is WK 69/2. Its about $35....but is all metal.

The new one is welded/sealed. The original one on the Jetta though....appears to have a pin/clip holding an element into it. I will take pictures of both...and disect the old one when I get it out. This would alleviate needing teh "Y" for the return line on D-jet, L-jet and others when going into a stock non-fuel injected bug. Ray

Great info, thank you, Ray!

(Couldn't get the link to work, but may be due to my being at work)
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I just crossed this over to my parts wholesaler and it is the same one used on the 2002-2005 Beetle 1.8LT and 2.0L motors (among many other Audis and other VWs). It IS internally regulated, but I have no info as to what pressure. . . Anyone know?? Very interesting to say the least.

perfect to convert my FI to carbs!

I am confused, how can the filter be regulated, isn't it before the pump? Or do you feed on w/ the pump, and the other is a return to relieve pressure?

confused
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

Things are rarely just crazy enough to work, but they're frequently just crazy enough to fail hilariously.

It is stamped with 4.0 bar. I guess my question would be....is that a max pressure or is there a minimum pressure requirement to flow through this filter?
I do not yet have books on my Jetta. But...the regulator for the 2.5L Jetta IS the fuel filter. The Three lines are Input, output and regulator return line. I really need to disect the one that comes off my car to see whats what. Ray
