75 baja project - in memory of our friend Sasha

Hi everyone, my name is Ido and i'm live in Israel.

this baja project is in memory of friend of my and us, this car build is making with help of all the peoples that know him.
the car ownes to Sasha, friend of us.
in 12 Aug 2006, Sasha died in the army serv in "second Lebanon war", he was a soldier in the israeli army, he was only 19 years old.

with help of my and freinds we decided to make his beetle to a baja project, Sasha was likes to runing with his beetle in the mud and on the sand, and he likes a baja bugs.

we are team of tree freinds that build this car.

the build started at April 2007, and still in progress.

i'll upload now pics from the build.

my english is not so good and it could be a little problem to me with the tecnical words but if you have questions i'll try to answer you.

the pan was swing-axles and we has to convert it to Irs.

August 2007:

chassis after painting

starting with rear suspension parts: 3x3 arms, 930 cv's, stronger axles and more.

we also take the body to a sand spraying, to clean the body from rust and paint.

November 2007,

front suspension: 6" wider beam, 3/4" wider and 1 1/2" longer trailing arms and 8" shock towers.

mud tires, 33x12.5xR15

Welcome to STF!!

I am very saddened to hear of the loss of your friend. Please accept my condolences. All soldiers giving their lives in combat are heroes. We must never forget them. Your project will be a wonderful reminder of your friend and his enthusiasm for the car.

Great pics! Your English is fine. 100% better than my Israeli

Very nice build!! You guys have put in a lot of work and have done an incredible job so far. The baja is looking great. Keep us posted with more pictures and updates.

What size is that tubing on the floorpans?

Looks like a VW shop?
I see a black vdub in the background...and you guys obviously know your way around the vw.

it's great to see that you'r intrested about this project.

little ask please, if you see something wrong in our build, or somthing that could be better if we do it differently, please let us know.
in Israel there is no baja builders or stors\parts shops that can direct our build.
most of the help and advices coming from the forums, so your posts and comments are importent.

the two tubes around the floor pan are 1 1/2", all the other tubes are 1 1/4".

we are not a vw shop, just team that build this car to the memory of are friend and some kind of amateurs.

what a black vdub?
