Finally, new development step Pauter TIV roller tip rocker

Post by Frallan »

I have been in contact with Don Pauter recently on his optional release of a developed version on the already famous rockers.
What really is holding him back seems to be the amount of interest by us all.
I wrote to him that I would even send him 50% or full payment to speed things up.
The nice guy Don is, he said, quote "Honestly I would not consider prepayment from any customer for an Item other than custom made which these are not". End quote.

Anyway I proposed and Don accepted that I place a poll on STF to find out the quantity. This could speed things up a little bit.

Let me give you another quote which makes me happy, "Target is $475.00/ set , also considering bushed shaft and pressure feed thru to valve stem and spring, looks doable without much additional work".
This development makes me smile and I know more people who welcome it a lot. Well done Don!

So, please let us know if you are interested or not?
In order to not drag on too long with this question, I have limited the poll to 30 days, meaning that it is ending Monday December 15th.

Thanks Ron.
That was quick but I must admit I posted links to many forums.

In fact there is only one visible which is yours Ron but already 11 sets on the wish list after little bit more than one hour.
Wish I could get that poll button working.

If you prefer not to be officially on this list here, shoot me a private mail on [email protected]

Just so no one is missing what the older version looked like, I borrowed a picture from you Wally and your Turbo TIV. Thanks!

I'm up for a set.

The poll is still not working.

Any chance of cranking the ratio up to 1.6-1.7 or so?

Would be very useful.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Hi Pile,
No big deal. I am no good in math, I must admit but on this level I can handle it and count.
As the difference for you is clicking on one button or answering a thread/mail, it is simple and no big deal.
Thanks. You are set # 12.

GREAT news!
I would like another set as well, so put me down for a set too :D

Thanks Frallan for further pursuading Don to make another run of these great rockers!

The original ratio of (advertised) 1:1.48 is fine. It actually turned out on my to be about 1,55 on the exhaust. More is not really wanted by me anyways. Even more ratio would give trouble elsewhere in the design I think.
If they could be made so you don't need caps on the valves for correct valve geometry, that would even be better, although maybe Don had a reason to make them like that :?: I dunno

Thanks,
Walter

Don't know why the poll won't work for you Frallan :( , I have set up a temporary set of poll questions, feel free to edit for content.

All posters please vote when Frallan has had a chance to get his poll questions set up. No "stuffing the ballot box" please!
So you think your project is taking forever eh? Well you've got nothing on me.....

Thanks! That was funny but I hope Dstar did not see it :-).
Editing worked well but I just could not get those buttons up there.
I added my own vote and it showed nicely in the results.

So yes, please add your vote now. Also all of you who have written e-mails and added a post on this thread, please click once and cast the vote.
I guess it is only anyone intending to buy several sets who I will keep separate record off.

Again, this is just a way for me to help Don get a number of interest.
