What the dash USED to look like:
Image

Found that the front bumper is not connected correctly....(still have to fix it... )
Image
Image

When I yanked the dirty old carpet, I found this....I'm told it was to help reinforce the rear of the car.....I eventually tied my cage into it. :)
Image

PO even left the old bumper mounts....maybe he thought he would change back someday???

During the rewire, I pulled the fan shroud to clean it up:

Had to change from ext reg alternator to int reg alternator.
Image

Started cleaning up the pedal assembly...
Image

Found that the PO had welded the clutch pedal...thus destroying my chance of a clean rebuild:
Image

Along the way, I installed a bodylift
Image

por-15'd the pan
Image

Had a Chenowth roll-cage installed...with a few mods:

Installed seats from a 2003 Nissan 350Z...(still need to install seatbelts, but not worried about them til it's actually moving)
Image

and reworked the dash a bit...The steering wheel now has a quick-disconnect, as well.

And what under the hood looks like now:
Image

Less holes...( I think the PO drilled a hole every time he needed to run a new wire....there are still a few small holes, but I might use them...for something.

And in just a matter of months, my little helper has went from:

to:

and:

I don't think we wanted out of the driver's seat...he loved sitting there!
...but he started to drool on the seat a bit too much.

I think so too! Should be out getting some scratches on it this desert season....most of the current dirt is dust from sitting in the garage for a year and a half.

Thanks!

I'm searching for ideas to close in the sides of the face of the CB and insulate it....I was thinking of just using double-sided foam seal, but do they make install kits for CB radios, like they do for car radios? I'd like a nice clean face on the dash side....

OH! And do they make Lighted CB antennas? I know they make lighted whips....

Thanks! That's actually a note for me, so I don't throw him around and break him! ha!

That was a quick candid shot that my wife helped setup....I'm just glad he didn't try to eat the screwdriver. :)

Here's what he was doing right before that....and pretty much after, as well.

....he was in the phase of just finding out that he had feet.

Thanks Ryan!

The mount that came with the CB was only 2" deep, so I had to figure out a way to securely mount it...and make it so that it would come out, if needed.
If I ever go to a bigger CB radio, I can always cut and bend things.

My to-do list:
Driveable
Pedal assy
gas tank
Hi-beam switch
Install battery
Bleed brakes
Install windows

Off-Road Ready
skid plates
off road lights
solid trans mount

"Finished"
sound deadener
carpet
rear seat
radio in glovebox
roof rack w/ spare tire mount

Someday: Thing front-end, rear coilovers, 3x3's.
