Advice for a T25 Engine conversion

Post by vanner »

Hi All,
We have had a left hooker T25 air-cooled camper in our garage now for 3/4 years. Because I got fed up with the reliability or lack of it!
I would like to fit a more reliable lump into it to use daily, hassle free.
I have seen a number of different engines used and it seems that some conversions are more hassle than they are worth to fit.
Can anyone tell me which is the easiest engine conversion to undertake and where can you buy the relevent adapter plates etc.?

I would say go with the subaru ej 2.2 engine, KEP has all the stuff you need and even has a wiring harness blueprint you can buy to do your own harness, you can get that motor cheap in junk yards.

Kennedy's blueprint will not help you at all. Its just a drawing that shows what the wiring loom should look like when you are finished. Thats about it. But doing the wiring isnt that difficult.
