This is my buddy Devin's in his '66 bug. It was our first MS install and car to get running.

You guys shouldn't mount these on the floor, you get a water leak and it starts collecting there and you're hosed. I had a CD changer in my Golf under the drivers' seat and the door seal sprung a leak. I was out of town and by the time I got home there was 1" of water there, the CD changer was of course junk after that. Mount it up on a wall somewhere vertically or at least elevate it a few inches.

Ok...a question then....what is the multi-pin connector on the right side of that relay board going to?
If that is in fact going to anywhere in the fuel injection system..and uses the type of unsealed card edge connector it looks like......and if those wires on the top edge of the card goe anywhere into the main EFI loom....and use what looks to screw down clamp connectors.......they should be covered. There are Huuuuuuuge reasons all of the OEM's started out the way you have it...and ended up with full weather tight enclosures.
Even the OEM's have issues still. I'm trouble shooting injection issues right now on no less than three cars, three different makes all within 4 years old....that have systemic high resistance issues....precisley because the manufacturers got careless and left certain power couplings/tabs and ground connectors unsealed by design.
All it takes is driving in humid or corrosion prone areas. On modern systems (even worse than the simpler old ones)...all it takes is surface corrosion on select terminals to create an endless series of recurring faults.
I'm just saying...learn from the mistakes of thousands of others that came before you. Ray

Looks like this thread is off to a good start, lets keep them coming.
When I have a chance to make it out to my buggy I will shoot a couple of pics where the brain will live in it also.
I don't dought the corrosion issue, but I haven't had any issues with it yet... I don't drive mine daily so I guess what it comes down to is that i'm not that worried about it.
Hey Mini, can you resize your pic for us?
