Is that right? I was under the impression that they weren't as strict in Australia...Guess I've been watching too many movies.

HERE IN AUSTRALIA WE SEEM TO HAVE A DIFFERENT SET OF RULES FOR EACH STATE .
IN NEW SOUTH WALES I COULDN'T REGISTER MY OVAL BEETLE WITHOUT AN ENGINEERS REPORT TO CERTIFY THE SAFETY OF THE MODIFICATIONS , HAD TO UPGRADE THE BRAKES , STEERING COLUMN , MASTER CYLINDER , SEAT BELTS , INDICATORS ETC . AND EVEN ENSURE THAT THE EXHAUST NOISE WAS BELOW 98DB .
THEY ARE VERY STRICT ON MODIFIED VEHICLES HERE , WE CAN'T HAVE A BIG ENGINE HANGING OUT THE BACK LIKE THE GUYS IN U.S.A .
WE EVEN HAVE TO HAVE ENGINEERS REPORTS IF A POPTOP ROOF IS FITTED TO A KOMBI .........

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

1641 turbo

Post by stantheman »

Hi everyone,

Here is a pic of my recently finished 1641 turbo affectionately known as the TAT or Tight Arse Tuesday turbo. This is an Aussie saying for cheap Tuesday or 2 for 1 Tuesday. Its the TAT because of the low budget.

Saw this thing run at Farmington NC,at the Fast Times at Farmington event.

According to the owner,its a 1641 with stock rods,044 heads,1.25 rockers,mild Bugpack cam,40mm Weber,t3/t4 turbo,Bosch blowoff valve,and nitrous. No wastegate or boost guage,it makes what it makes!

We saw it go 6.53@107 in the 1/8...it's best is 6.46 @108. WOW. I'll put the vid in the video store section.
