I to am doing a conversion but havent gotten as far as you. I have heard that people are using the larger of the rotating assembly on the throttle body. Hope this helps. What year EJ22 did you end up installing?

a larger pulley would make things worse, a smaller one would work.

Did you ever get throttle pedal worked out? I am in the same boat that you are in now. And my throttle cable is binding up and not letting the throttle return spring bring the pedal back.

ya, i added a 1.5" extension to the arm that the throttle cable attatches to. it works great and i get full movement out of it... as for the binding throttle cableis it in a sheath? does it make and abrupt/sharp turns, and did you put any king of grease on it before it went into the sheath? thats all i can think of right now.... hope it helps

1.5 Extension? Is that on the pedal end or at the engine? I am confused. Do you have any pics? The sheath that I have it in is the origianal suby. I believe the problem that the sheath is to small for the cable. The VW cable is approx. 1/16 thick (multi stran wire) and the suby cable was originally 1/32" thick (single stran wire). I am going to find me a larger ID sheath.

on the pedal end... not on the pedal itself but on the arm on the pedal assembly that throttle cable attatches toand the pedal pushes against, i just made the throttle cable mount higher up so it would have more travel...

Here is the solution used on a set-up in a trike

The the cable from the throttle twist grip goes to the short bar on the 'L' arm, while the longer arm connects to the throttle body via another short length of cable. The 'L' bar pivots on a small ball bearing.
