Hey pete, no i dont play, i found that red box on the side of the road, left behind. With 2 verry big speakers in it. No amp. I got it hooked to my radio, it plays as loud as i can bear...


And yes, i think i will have the ecu control them. Probably by IAT. Or maybe 1 all the time and the 2nd when it gets on boooooooost!

Hi.

I got my turbo flange welded!



The little tab on there is to put a bolt trough to keep the stock wastegate valve closed.

Next up is ordering my stuff from cb performance.
Wastegate, bov, ecu, loom, crank trigger, fuell rails and misc parts!

How are you holding your wastegate shut?

A nut between the flange and wastegate-arm,
A bolt trough the little hole,
Some red locktite et voila!

Nice and simple. I had to weld one up recently, was surprisingly easy to do.

Looking Great! I hate to admit that I ran a cheap ($50) Emusa brand Chinese wastegate for 3 years with zero problems. I have a difficult time recommending Chinese parts but the cheap one worked very well for me. Bosch BOV is also a great part for the $20 that they cost on ebay. I buy as few parts as I can from CB, their customer service has been horrible and almost every part that I have bought from them required modifications.

Gaskets for the turbo exhaust arrived. 5layer stainless.

Played monopoly today,

Oh boy, the efi game is on!

Cut of the intake manifold end pieces, and some new 50mm tubing.
So everything is matched in intake diameter.

Will need a serious flow-job after welding!

Not really, just taking on small jobs that dont have to wait till winter.

Really not much more to do without removing parts that make driving the buggy impossible

Quick question,

Would the cooling of the heads be much affected by cuting of the horisontal pieces what have the cylinder stamped on them?
This would ̀ clean up the look of the engine tin.

Seen it done on rails and a couple of buggies.

Personally, I would limit cutting back the tin because if you leave a flange it would become a stiffening flange that keeps the rest of the tin from flexing and potentially causing stress fracture. I would end up cutting material off about a safe 3/8th inch outboard from the outside join of the bend (aka OML/outside mold line) to the straight flange... just to be safe.

I haven't got around to doing it yet myself. It also may give some additional access to the engine and help with air flow.
