Hi Walter, yes its the display.. if it was the sensor I agree with you, the engine was running way to rich.. I think I will score a Autometer AFR next month..

Ok got it back running..
Idle = great..

But it doesnt rev.. if you want to rev the engine it dies completely.. No black smoke.

I got 155 mains, and 170 air.. no luck.. Tried also 135 vs 200 air or 155 va 200 air..

I need to put smaller venturi's, I got now 36mm , I think i will go to 32.. Looks like the airspeed is to slow in the intake...

Any recommendations?

If it dies and no black smoke then it needs more fuel surely.

The carb is ok, it's rebuild now, and same error. I really think the venturi is to big. I will order some 32mm.
At the moment I'm in Swiss, but when back to NL we will continue.

Thanks.

Ok got the 32mm venturi's in. Much better , I was able to drive true the street. Still some popping and black smoke.

Then I checked the engine , and again a olie leak at the melling oil pump.. also my carb is leaking fuel everywhere due to the boost pressure.

Since I have not much time and need to got for MOT, I will put back the 1600cc engine..

the turbo engine will go into a corner, because I'm done with it at the moment..

I know I'll catch sh*t for this but can you turn down the boost enough that it won't leak?

 Moderators... Clean up in aisle 3, really though I don't think the oil leak is boost related, those melling pumps leak, it's a known problem

...unless you oring them.
It's really required anyway since they don't expand with the block like an aluminum pump.

Oil pukage can definitely be boost related, depends on the blow-by that gets by the valve guides and rings.
If you have more airflow from blowby than the evac setup can deal with, you are going to have oil coming out of places you didn't know were places ...
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

@ Panel, I think you mean the carb? IT's at 0.3 bar ( I will go for EFI next year..)

@ 66BRm, not its the casting of the melling pump.. will machine a O ring in it..

@ Pile, I had no issues with boost and Oil :)

1600 kadron engine is in, almost MOT ready :)

Oh I know you meant carb , hence the leak. You won't leak fuel with EFI at 0.3Bar.

Oil pump info here...... viewtopic.php?f=15&t=108777

Ok All, I'm back. _ thanks for the support so far!

I made a long story but was unable to post, since i got some errors of the forumboard.. drafts did also not work. So here is the short version.

For now I made a new test stand to run the engine outside the car.
Directly I saw a fuel leak on boost at the choke part of the weber.
I plugged the choke channels see picture, and made a blind plate.
Now the carb is not leaking fuel anymore under boost! I can also now open full throttle, and it revs much better! :)

Next step is to make the oil filler a bit longer and add a second engine case breather..

You have a test stand that puts load on the engine?
