I would be very surprised if you have less than 150hp. I think you have hit your 150hp target and more.

I am getting 195hp out of a 2332 with a bigger cam than yours, but with carbs and the same heads and same exhaust. So you definitely have the potential to easily hit 150hp

Thanks for your answer

Some say that is a waste this heads with my combo, that i need more cr and cam
Engine runs great, car is fast and streetable
I'm happy but i supose never is enough :)

What compression is enough to this heads to flow properly
I supose that i can raise cr to 10 and isntall 1.4 roller rockers (.545" lift with my cam)
This heads supose that are for a max lift of .520" but can be upgraded to .630" with 650 springs and retainers
What cam do you have ? , did you change Springs ?

I think 9.5:1 is fairly high already. Maybe not high enough, but going to 10:1 wont really make a big difference

I have a 2332 with an 86C cam and 10:1 CR. I originally built it with an 86B cam but later swapped to 86C - when I did the change, I didnt change the heads at all. I might have increased the CR a little if I built it originally for the 86C.
But, my car is fully streetable, pulls without effort from 1300rpm in 4th (freeway flyer ratios).
I am using the cheap $30 CB dual springs with a light valve train - titanium retainers, light followers and AC.net aly pushrods. Rev limiter is at 7000rpm and I have never floated.

If you are happy, dont worry about the numbers and dont listen to the masses who say it should be different. Most of them havent even driven a HP beetle.

I bet it revs high. But you´ll be surprised to how "little" hp and torque you really have. I´d say 150 is not that far off, +/- 5-7 hp. The reason is that the heads are too large for the combo, and the valves are very inefficient on the cylinder wall side, resulting in poor fuel mix and poor cylinder filling. Bump displacemet to 2275 (94 Bore) 9,5 CR and it will really come to life. You can run the C45 with 1,4 rockers, but I´d suggest 1,3 or the valve accelleration becomes a little harsh.

I read that scat rockers have more lift that advertised

1.25. = 1.33-1.39

I need to measure lift but probably i already have 1.3 rockers

About cr i can raise to 10

I have new 90.5 pistons with total seal, then i will use it at is until i need to replace it

Sometimes, yes. But you will have to check.
going 10-1 CR requires 98-99 octane with the C45. If you have easy acces to that there should be no problems as such.
BUT, if the engine is not assembelled yet I strongly suggest that you increase displacement or find another set of heads. It is not a good match.

Today I measure the lift
I have .500 I suppose I little more because I don't took out the gap

C45 cam have 390 of Lift
390x 1.1. = 429
390x 1.25 = 487
390x 1.3. = 507
390x 1.4. = 546

I suppose that I have 1.3

Hi Butchman,

Yes, you should have 100 hp.

The carb you have now is a good midrange street carb, but limits high RPM power. A set of Weber 40's or 44's would add 20 hp over 5000 rpm.

A set of Kadron (Solex) with 44mm throttle bodies and 32mm venturis will give you about the same boost as Webers.

It always comes down to what you're going to do with the engine. You already have the makings of a good, strong, street engine.
