I wouldn't. I'd just poke holes in the hose 'til it was how I wanted it!

You can also make on out of an 1/8 inch Brass Tee, a couple nipples, a cap, spring, ball bearing and a bolt with nut.
It will cost about $20.00 in parts though since you need a tap for the bolt and a couple drill bits.
I built one when I first started and it worked great up to the 17 lbs I ran then....I even used to to 22 lbs a couple time before my winter upgrades which included Electronic Boost Control.

Yeah I think I have a link somewhere of how you built it. I did some work on it today and it seems my fuel pump may be on the fritz. Haven't checked it out yet though.

Man I wasn't getting fuel so I pulled the fuel pump off. The pump push rod was short. I must have used the one from the 1200 when I put it together (don't remember). I just put a couple zaps of weld on the tip and ground it flat again to make it work. I don't know how long it will last.

Re: 1600 turbo build thread
So I really haven't done much. Been working a ton and have had to make a few runs back up to Iowa to pick up some of my other cars. I ordered a new brake kit and need to get that on. While I was up there I found a 390 holley but I noticed when I got home that the base plate is broken around the throttle shaft. So do you think it's worth $115 for a new base plate for the 390 over the 450cfm? Both are mechanical secondaries. The 390 is a double pumper though.

Think it would be a good idea to run a deep sump on this? They don't seem to be terribly expensive. I know they aren't really made to keep things cool, but it has to help a little.

Not necessarily. The deep sump has two great effect; stops oil starvation; helps shed heat from the oil. You don't need to go too crazy. I've got the basic empi 1.5 quart sump. It's heaps. Between it, an oil cooler and filter, the motor has a lot of more oil capacity. The oil never seems to get much above 75degC (167F).

Right... Well a filter is another cheap bit of engine insurance. A cooler is optional, but if you're in a hot climate with boost, it will help.
