Yes, it does... In reality it depends on the coils desires.
The 1K provides a little more current.

LS2 coils usually work fine with the 4.7K.

what about the vw coil? thats what ill be running. My friends parts dealer has 3 options for the coil ranging in price so ill probably try the middle ground one at 35 bucks. the lowest one is 18 but he said he has had bad luck with them crapping out

and can you use open element IAT sensor if they will be exposed to gas and water/meth

1) You may need to use a 270-330 ohm resistor for the pullup--- It depends on the coil. Really.
I'd try 1K first on the bench... Swapping those pullup resistors is fast/easy.

Do NOT pullup to 12v, the processor may die instantly if anything is not right.

where do you guys buy the circuit board components. I need a TC4427AEPA dual mosfet chip and diyautotune doesnt have them on the site.

Just got my second coil driver and boost control kit. So the computer should be 100% tonight. Now to buy some sensors and a harness (and hope everything works)

Digi-key usually has a much better selection, price, faster shipping, and no minimum order.

I would still strongly encourage putting those coil drivers in another box by the coils, rather than in the ECU, or use "logic" coils.
Intentionally putting a huge high power electric noise source INSIDE your ECU always baffled me.

Note the MS3+MS3X/MS3-super-ultimate/pro-setup-of-the-day/microsquirts and all their children are made logic out for coils.
It's not an accident.

I was talking to mario and he convinced me to use the standard wasted spark set up. He said that anytime he sets up an ecu he uses the 2 coil drivers for wasted spark and never has issues. So I will try that and see what happens. I think chip uses 4 drivers inside the box for sequential and doenst have any issues either IIRC. But I do see your point.

Wasted spark is more than good enough for most of what we're doing. It's also incredibly hard to screw up. 2 output wires to the coil drivers. Get them the wrong way round and the motor won't run (don't ask how I know this). Get it right and it runs straight up. Another curious thing I found out the other day. Even modern ECUs using cam sensors/coil-on-plug to individually time/fire specific cylinders are still running a wasted spark on a paired cylinder.

Nah, i think i might have initially planned to go that route, then i built my own driver box, which eventually had an issue, so i bought a quad spark and called it done. I currently have 4 Ign-1a coils sitting in boxes waiting their turn to go on the project though...

I tend to lean very paranoid when it comes to avoiding electronic noise.
Comes from (largely) fixing electronic noise issues for the last 30+ years for a living.

Tip: If there is a way you can avoid it, or even reduce it, do it THAT way.
Noise does truly random poop that's hard to find, much less fix. Avoid at all costs.

The first MS2 setup I built had the ignition AND 4 low Z injector drivers in a second box on the other side of the car, with its own "high power" harness running down that side away from the sensors harness... Worked peachy, and I'd do it again if the MS3X and LS2 coils didn't have it handled..

can i use my msd plug wires for my wasted spark set up, or will they not work because of low resistance

I would think so but I'm not 100% sure.

I use stock EDIS plug wires I grabbed off a 97 Ford F150 truck since I still use the EDIS coil only.

I just run resistor plugs.
