With my past experience with EMPI I would rather pay a little bit more and go CB 044. How much are these anyway??

I've seen them as low as 799 a pair for the stage 2's. Not bad for a cnc head. I was also curious about the AA performance cnc's.. DRD does the cnc work for them but the casting is theirs. Same price range.

I held a stage 3 head earlier this year. Builders valves and springs. Nice, clean casting with all the cooling passages clear. I was going to use some stage 2 but some hand ported scat 043 heads nib turned up. About 800 for the heads and 225 for the port matched intakes were the prices I was quoted. Empi had acquired bug pack previously, are these using any bug pack reasearch? Did bug pack used to offer heads?

I'm thinking of trying these out.. only thing I don't like is that the ported manifolds are not offered in FI versions yet. I purchased a set of Empi stock replacements for the wife's car a little over a year ago and she has driven the wheels off it with no issues. The new permanent mold castings look great.

DRD has been bought by Empi....the main dude at DRD is now empis head guy(for cyl heads)....they claim now...USA quality made valve springs and top notch products....not bashing empi...as they have made their own bed....hopefully they be good stuff now(if they werent prior to DRD purchase)

I have yet to build that motor lol. Been on hold due to Texas' buggy registration issues.. that and the wife's bug seems to be priority lol

I saw a recent add for empi heads. L6,L7 turbo, and D7000, with flow numbers and port volume. It was on the back cover of the most recent db@hvw.

I’ve seen these heads and they are really nice. A friend has them on his 2l and he said they are really worth the money compared to some of the others. Empi has really come around on quality since merging with Bugpack.

Awesome! Good to know... hopefully the state of Texas gets their crap together so my buggy can be legal. Then I can finally finish this project and use those heads! I’ve been waiting to see what happens because I can’t get a registration at the moment.
