wmpi brake kit?

Post by 13beetle » Thu Dec 08, 2005 2:02 pm

hey guys. i was wondering if this brake kit by empi would bolt upto the front and rear of a 71 superbeetle.

http://www.empius.com/catalog/empi2005_pg147.html

if so..what kind of mods would be required.

i ask this because i have been looking for a brake kit that is the same back and front that uses grooved/vented discs and 4-6 pistonc calipers. anyone know of any other than this one?

EMPI rear brake kit

Post by wrenchnride247 » Thu Dec 08, 2005 9:23 pm

I'm sorry to say, but, they are for off road use with wide five '67 and earlier bolt pattern. They are for the rear only. Have you been to the Germanlook.com web site? Just reading some of the differnt forums has answered all of my questions about brakes and suspension mods. The info is there you just gotta look before you ask too many questions. I'm going through the same thing.

i have been looking for a fair while now. and as good as the 944turbo setups /t3 discs up front .etc sound. i would like to use a complete BRAND NEW "bolt on" so to speak setup. dont mind changing to porsche 930 cv's as the engine behind this would need them anyway.

have any ideas?

I wouldnt trust that kit to run on the street. Itll work, but i wouldnt trust it for long term street use. If it was my car i would get either RX7 or Porsche calipers and adapters from Lanner at VDubcustoms.com
