Canards

Post by Cragrobbo » Tue Dec 24, 2013 5:40 pm

Hey, Just a thought, but has anyone tried canards on their beetle to see how they look?

In my head they look cool - but I maybe horribly wrong in reality.

I don't know if they would have much of an effect on a beetle but I guess in theory they should help a bit since it has little downforce on the front, I currently run a front Kamei and maybe in conjunction they could look good and maybe work well?

knock some up out of black card and stick it on with tape just to get a general idea of looks maybe.... would you put them on the front part of the front wings?

I have seen front wings on super high-hp FWD cars, most likely a considerable amount of time spent in the wind tunnel. To get more downforce on a bug, this is one way. Doesn't really add to the drag either by adding more components, wings, etc. You get the idea:
