Thanks for those pictures.
Those doors look very nice and I like seeing your hinge build.
I will have similar task in front of me with my new carbon doors.

I dont get it, why doesn´t the link show the picture direct?
Anyway, I think you can see the links?
I will also post a picture of my Blue Carbon car so you see why the doors are to be just clear coated.

Hello again Wally,
We meet on different forums.....same interest.
I do not know yet as I am not in Sweden.
Pictures were taken by a friend.
I got them from Remmele (6 months wait) and all I know is what they claim. Unfortunately it is difficult to compare if you do not list excatly what is included and what not.
Finally it all depends on what kind of windows, hinges and latcehs you end up adding, then you can compare weight savings.
In any case, they are light. I will ofcourse weigh them end November and then post it.

OK...now I have some approximate figures.

Someweher close to 15 kg for stock door and 5 kg for the CF door.
Without windows in both cases.
The saving will be close to 10 kg per door.
20Kg saving on a 730 kg car is not bad.
Now I just have to do some 2-3 kg on each wheel and I will be satisfied for 2008.
Ohhh, I forgot, 5-6 kg on me too as recently recommended by the doctor.

Thanks Frallan!
20 kg savings will just match the 20 kg increase of a 6-point safety roll-cage I'll be needing as well :?

Hi Frallan,

I would like to see some more of your beetle if you have any more pictures or info posted anywhere?

Did you end up getting the CF doors on alright?

Weighed both the blue steel doors and the CF doors on a digital scale.
14.9 kg for blue doors with windows, mirrors, bracket and handles.
3,5 on clean CF door.
Still hoping for close to 10 kg saving per side.

If anyone wants to buy my doors send me a PM. I don't need them anymore and they are just taking up space.

Thanks for sharing!
Very inspiring and if I just can get my time in focus on this car also, my doors will be installed with your solution.
