Noisy COPs

Post by Mr.Larsen »

Don't you just hate 'em

Well, at least I do... I had planned to use a set of Honda CBR600RR COPs on my build, but they emit a ton of EMI. So much that it makes the MS reset almost immediately (I haven't been able to fire up the engine for the maiden run due to this noise issue). Is it possible to reduce the EMI,or should I just ditch the honda COPs and find something else? The good thing about them is that they are a perfect fit, so I really hope to find a solution.

Thanks,
Lars

Are your coils off the CBR600F4i or the CBR600RR? Or do you know the Denso part number? Mine are the RR version, and the coil length is a bit shorter than the F4i version. I have a vague suspicion that the RR version use CDI ignition - and that could explain the EMI noise.

Thanks!
