MS2 V3.57 spare port mod?
I was curious as to what is needed to be done on my board to run an extra output to drive my meth injection . I am currently using the f idle port for driving a relay for my fans. Any options / suggestions appreciated

You should post on the msextra forums. You will most likely get a quicker response over there. Especially since this is a pretty generic ms question, and not vw specific. There are WAY more MS gurus over there, not just Mario or Piledriver.

That said, you could probably use one of the stepper outputs to drive a relay to power your w/m pump.

The issue is that we don't know for sure what I/O you're already using, so a correct answer is ~impossible.
(some of the possible input pins are also usable as outputs)
You have to know where you are to plan how to get where you are going.
There's a table in the msextra manual showing all the I/O and possible uses for each ECU variant...
You need to make up a document of what your existing mods are, and what pin does what.
(even if only for your own sanity 6 months from now)
Chip is right, you have 2 stepper outputs that are perfect to run a relay, most VW folks do not use them for stepper.
(4 lines but really only 2 outputs as the a/b toggle)
If it's an on/off injection setup, a relay will work, for a PWM controlled setup a FET driver (like the injector drivers) or a DC solid state relay can be used.

Thanks Chip and Pile,
I saw the table on msextra I'm just curious as to whether theres anything I need to do to my ms. I am using the relay box for ms and that is where I pick up the f idle for my relay for my fans. If I don't need to do anything that would be great.

I know it says you can use the iac pins. I was just curious on how to hook it up, and if there is any mods that need to be done. I also posted this in the ms forums too, just trying to get some help I can comprehend .

It depends on how your ecu is jumpered internally whether the iac pins were brought out or were used for something else.
(also on the harness if the pins are connected?)
We can't tell from here.
Who built your ecu/harness?

I delivered my board to Mario with a list of things for him to add or which one was WI and another was boost control.
I can't justify pulling my long, gray hair out for the price he charges to do all that modifying stuff......
It will come back checked and working and probably with a wiring diagram for me too........

Re: MS2 V3.57 spare port mod?
The basic question, are you just wanting an output that is on/off, or are you wanting to run your pump with a PWM signal so you can very the pressure of the output using the W/I table?

The relay harness won't answer your question. You need to see if the internal jumpers have been put in place connecting the output pins to the db37. If they aren't connected, nothing will happen.

Re: MS2 V3.57 spare port mod?
Is it pin 25 I need to make sure that is connected to the board right? I haven't taken the ecu apart to check because I have no pictures to tell me where it needs to be connected. I just need to know what is supposed to go where from the db37 to the board. Sorry for the silly questionsChip Birks wrote:The relay harness won't answer your question.
