MS 1 Extra V2.2 TPS Calibration

Post by 56speedster »

Had a problem with my alternator and fan and had to remove the TPS and throttle body to fix it. When I reinstalled everything, I figured I should recalibrate my TPS since I had removed it from the TB but for some reason when I get the currents and click close, I get the following message: "Unable to save TPS calibration".

Anyone else ever have this problem and if so what was the fix? I posted this issue on the Megasquirt forums Friday but have no responses yet.

The car runs fine but I know that there is a difference because my static position used to be 18% and it is now 16%. I would rather recalibrate it with MS than move it on the TB until it reaches 18% because who knows if the currents would be exactly the same or not?

Any suggestions/help is appreciated.

p.s - I am really digging the MS F/I setup with the EDIS. Had I done this from the very beginning I wouldn't have a huge box of parts that need to be sold....

People never believe me when I tell them how good EDIS is, it's something you have to experience for yourself I guess.

There should be a log file in your project directory, can you post it? It may tell us the problem.

I'm guessing that would be different than the standard datalog. I'll look on the laptop and see if I can find it and post it.

By the way Mario - I ran the car for a good 15 minutes while datalogging and then ran the VE analyzer in MLV and it made a bunch of changes that I ran today and it ran great!. I didn't log todays run but will try to tomorrow as I will be driving it every day for the next few weeks unless something breaks. As always, thanks for all of your help.

In my projects folder, I do have a projectCfg folder that contains 3 files: mainController dated 4/15/10 that is 181kb, project.properties dated 5/9/10 that is 1kb and vehicle.properties dated 5/6/10 that is 1kb. Are any of the above useful in helping find the problem?

The only other folder in this project folder is the dashboard folder.

I do have some other msq files in this folder along with 1 datalog from yesterday and 2 other files: msns-extra dated 10/29/07 that is 182kb and msns-extrajs dated 4/15/10 that is also 182kb. I believe the later file is something I must have created as it has my initials at the end.... Could it possibly be the culprit??? I'm betting if something is wrong that I did it. :)

Are any of the files listed above of any use in finding what could be the cause?

The log file is in the main projects directory. Not your specific folder and it will be a .log file. Can you try un hooking the TPS connector and then trying the calibration again to see if you get the same error.

Here is the error in that log file

5/10/10 5:59:35 PM :Error Reported: Unable to save Throttle Calibration.
Error writing C:\Documents and Settings\ndefranco\My Documents\TunerStudioProjects\JimmyStout\inc\throttlefactor.inc
The system cannot find the path specified

I'll email you the file if you can place it.
