Injector Gaskets for Mexi Manifolds

Post by kangaboy »

Do they make large injector gaskets to allow the use of modern style injectors to fit in the seemingly oversized ports on the Mexican FI end castings? For some reason I thought the Mexican end castings would have the same injector port size as the CB end castings, but I was mistaken. Is finding gaskets the answer? Or should I be looking for the injectors with the fat base?

Fat base. Kinda limits you for sure. DIYautotune.com used to sell fat based units all the way up to 1000cc. Might be worth a look there.

Wish that guy would have checked the ones he is selling in the classifieds and got back to us. Those are the kind I think I need.

Anyone know what size injectors the German end castings use? They look significantly smaller...like the CB end castings.

I think what you're referring to is the gasket that goes around the tip of the injector?

There are two for the mexi manifolds, one around the tip and a much bigger one one the body. I have used Bosch 210cc injectors for an older VW VR6 and Bosch 180cc injectors for a Ford? which had the same body size and fit no problems in the mexi manifolds.

The tip gasket is an o ring and the other is like a piece of cut rubber tube.

Yeah, I guess O-Ring would be the more appropriate term.
Thanks for the heads up on the injectors. I see if I can hunt down a VR6 next time I'm at the Pic-n-Pull.

The Dub Shop has adapters.

I welded regular injector bungs into the mexican manifold a while back. That gives more room inside for porting too.

These are the exact gaskets for EV1 injectors in a mexi end casting. I bought them and they are exactly the same. Note that they are shipped from France and the part where you fill in the shipping address is confusing, but these are the correct part and I have not found anywhere else that sells them.
