Has anyone used the yamaha FZ6 ( 600 cc ) throttle bodies? Been following some on ebay as the gsxr's are almost impossible to get in Australia.
Specs
36mm bodies , injectors flow 235cc @41.1 psi , has idle air , TPS , appears to have map sensor look slike they split easily.

They look like they should work, what is the center to center measurement on the pairs?

Guy who is selling them tells me they are 75mm centers.

Bids in see how I go -- if no joy will look at getting gsxr set ex USA

how did you do?

i was thinking for the gsxr ITB's instead of buying an external pump and FPR, can you just use the gsxr pump with internal reg? it holds it at 43psi or whatever it is they run.... just cut and fit to the base of the tank? one fuel line.... simples?

just won a set of gixxer 600 TBI's from 2006 for the sum of £35 delivered! very pleased!

need to pick up a cheap TPS for them but should be cool then.

my plan which may not work but will attempt is to run the gixxer fuel pump with internal reg, no return line needed..... i plan to get this welded into a tank in place of the standard output :)

well turns out they have a TPS which is cool, guessing i'll need a bit of the wiring harness to pinch the conector off, but pleased!

so where am i?

well removed the top butterflies and shaft and split them, all pretty easy, what i will say is soak the butterfly screws frist to loosen them, then i used a watch makers screw driver, taped that down onto the screw to get a good seat, then used plumbers pliers to turn it and they all came out OK!

just need to remove that MAP and get to thinking!!

so mine seem to be 40mm which is cool, think it was 06 and 07 600's that had this.

i've got the lower injectors which will squirt 225cc's is this enough? 2110cc 6-6.5k rpm limit in a daily driver.

each TB has its own little vac but could this be hooked up to an idle valve or is that not how they work?

each has its own bypass screw which i guess is for balancing?
Image
the hole for that is above the plate for entry and below the throttle plate for exit
Image

so here's what i'll see from the rear of the engine
Image

now i could run a cable from the stock location, to the rear of the left bank, then to the front of the right bank...?
or use a stock linkage and attach little arms on the ends of the shafts? (drill and tap the left one)

any thoughts?

for my manifolds....

i'm thinking a thick ally base plate to smooth the transition from oval port to tube, then weld on some tubes and mount to the TBI's..... nice and short so fuel has a good view of the valve, and then make up the rest of my desired intake length with tube above the TBI's?.....
any thoughts?

Cheers

this looks ideal for drilling and tapping as a idle stop.... but do you need them with bypass screws?

Put two traditional arms on end of TB's and use CPS style center pull linkage....

Devastator is working on a cable pulley for that left TB and he already makes a awesome pulley for the right TB. The idea with the extra pulley on the left TB is to keep the cable to the right TB out of the way of the fan shroud.

You do want a throttle plate stop on that right TB, I luckily had an extra gsxr throttle stop screw then just found the correct tap (it's a oddball pitch, IIRC 5mm 1.0, I could be wrong), turned out really nice. The screws sometimes pop up on ebay, or you can find a completely stripped down TB for $1 like I did

Go cable linkage, it is superior in every way to regular linkage. I found all my bits from this place, you might have a similar company on your side of the pond http://www.greenskyadventures.com/throt ... ized09.htm

One last thing, if you soak those TB's in carb dip they will look good as new. Keep us updated on your progress Andy.
