I have a pair of 40 Dels that I bought used. I was told when I bought them that the left carb wants to plug in the idle circuit so, once every few years I have to tear it down, clean it then resync the carbs.
Due to some very active great grand children running around I don't want to tear things down while they are here. I have some carb spray that I usually use to clean the inside of the carb with but the question is: with the Del carbs could I just spray down the tops of the carbs with the engine running and get results (wishful thinking) or is a tear down the only way.

I started the buggy engine up to prep it (gas in the other carb) for pulling the carb and cleaning it out and it ran but awful. I am beginning to think that a plug wire might be the problem as one of them had slipped and was against the exhaust tube. I'll try plugs, wires, cap and rotor before I get into the carb any more.
