Dellorto DRLA ilde air modification

Post by TZepeSH »

I have the common jet clogging problem. Unfortunately it is difficult to order from the US as I live in Europe, and could not find any european supplier to bring the Jet Doctors from CB Performance.
My thinking is: if the idle air holes are the problem that they are level to the carburetor body, why not just pull out the brass "jets" and replace them with taller ones? I see that the Jet doctors are merely drilled taller idle jet holders, and the old idle air holes are plugged. I would keep the old holes but make the air intake hole taller. I am referring to the holes circled in the picture below. Maybe pull out the brass things, tap the hole and have the taller idle air intake threaded at the bottom.
Did anybody try this? What would be the problems of such a solution?
