Anyone have any info on one of these. While this isn't Vee Dub related the carb was used on VW's. I spent a buck and a half on jets for my Yamaha V Star 1100 and one of the throttle valves broke on the last go around. There are 4 plastic clips that hold a thing a ma jig in a hole, and the clips broke. Well I have this carb so I tore it down and everything is in good condition and want to put it on my bike. I moved the gas mounted speedo to the handle bars so now I have a place to either mount the carb above the tank in the hole or mount the air filter. I think the air filter would look best mounted under the trim panel in the tank. That way I can keep the intake runners short so I don't have the icing problems VW's do because this is a V Twin engine. If the carb was mounted above the tank it would have to have about 14 inch intake runners. It would look wicked but I am after function.

I am pretty sure this carb is missing the idle mixture screw.

I had one of those Solex progressive carbs and it ran very well thank you. It was tied to a stock off-set (alternator) fuel pump but I don't remember having a problem with too much fuel pressure that affected the float.

Getting parts and information as well as having easy access to some of the adjusting screws that were close to the fan shroud was a bit of a pain though.

Well I got my manifold made for the V Twin and am having a time with too much fuel, anything over a third to half throttle and she falls down. So far I have disabled the secondaries by disabling the accelerator pump helped a bunch, then I plugged the secondary main jet with solder that helped a bunch also, wired the secondary butterfly shut just to rule it out. After half throttle it is still getting twice the fuel it needs. I am too tired to think I have been trying to sort this out for over 2 weeks now. So any advice would be appreciated. I want to make this carb work and it will I have no doubt I am in the ball park but jetting down is a problem can't seem to find jets for this carb. I don't really care if the secondaries ever work. I am not looking for gains in horse power or torque. I want to keep the air filter I have as it is, it is function-able, and a real conversation starter. So either I make this carb work or find another one that will. I had to make a bracket for the TPS

Here she is. As you can see or rather hear she sounds great on the kick stand.
