Those are aftermarket mystery coils. Avoid.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Buy from a VW guy... I've bought several items from him and I'm superhappy with his services.

It doesn't look like Mario sells the Truck Coils that I am looking for. I want to find a set of them so I dont have to run a Quad Spark.

You don't have to run a quad spark with Mario's ls2 style coils. You do however need a quad spark or similar device if you run his COP setup.

Re: LS2 Wiring and connectors
I am running a set of Mario's LS2 on my 1600 T3 without a Quad Spark Just got it running last weekend and runs just fine. The truck coils just have a lot more kick from what I read.kangaboy wrote:It doesn't look like Mario sells the Truck Coils that I am looking for. Could be wrong on that one.

Well, I'm glad you mentioned that. I was under the impression that they had to be truck coils to eliminate the QuadSpark equipment. So will the non-truck LS2 coils work hooked directly to my MS3X?

Re: LS2 Wiring and connectors
The quadspark is only needed to drive "dumb" coils, the LS2 coils are all logic controlled.kangaboy wrote:Well, I'm glad you mentioned that. The MS3X largely exists to drive them.
I have a set of truck coils but have never figured out how to mount them elegantly.
The "normal" LS2 coils just need a few standoffs and bolts.
I'm sure Mario could source you a set of either style LS2 coils.
The IGN1As are also a great choice, many big DI Mercury outboards have them, or their OEM brothers.
They have about the kick of the LS2 truck coils, maybe more.
Redline Weber sells the IGN1As.
I'll see if I can find the Mercury part#... Those are easy to mount, too.

Crummy picture, can't be certain from that pic, but probably truck coils based on the thin "ears" for mounting.
Better pics:

Re: LS2 Wiring and connectors
It appears the stacked standoff design can be used on the d585 truck coils just like the std LS2 coils, with a twist:
