Mega jolt VR sensor help needed ASAP....

Post by manx3094 »

We are supposed to leave on a 1000 mile trip on Tuesday morning and I believe my VR sensor just went bad. It was purchased from Mario at the dub shop.
Does anybody have a part number so that I can pick one up locally?
Need ASAP....
Thanks,
David

Hi,
did anyone get you a partnumber?
I'm planning to run a dubshop vr-kit on my water/oxy-boxer over here in The Netherlands, so a partnumber would be helpful in case of a sensor failure......
Looks like a Honda part.

Regards, Rob

Pictures might help
Ford made a herd of VR sensors for EDIS
It looks like Mario uses the same vr sensor for the hidden and std kit

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

I'm not really sure how a sensor could go bad unless the clearances were way too tight and it wore half the sensor away.

Mine rubbed just a little bit and never bothered it in the least. We adjusted it a tad bit out and away we went for a tuning session.

It's run for two seasons now without a hitch.

What's the resistance across it's terminals? I've never seen one go bad, but I guess anything electrical can fail. Need a picture to recommend a part number.

The sensor can't be mounted too close or too far away from the trigger wheel to pick up the changing polarity of the teeth going by.
