Maybe this is old news to most of you, but I found that a Bosch Vanagon plug wire set (Bosch P/N: 09-272) works perfectly with the LS2 coils that a lot of us use on our Megasquirt systems. The coil end fits perfectly and uses the same type of connection that the Vanagon distributor caps use and they are a 90 degree fitting. Also the 7mm OD is perfect for standard Beetle air-cooled plug ends (Bosch P/N: 0 356 100 014). Air seals are oddly provided with this set even though it's for water-cooled Vanagons .

I saw those once, they got the from NAPA IIRC...I looked at them any my first guess was last of the ACVW for MX w/FI.

I wonder if it is universal back datable part like pressure plates with the removable collar.

The Vanagon coil wire, and distributor connection is the ~same as the plugs, little tube with a spring clip to grab the threads.
The whole setup works on a T1/T4 as well (cap/wires) Vanagon/Golf cap is interchangeable on a std body distributor like a 009 or any of the later factory units. Ran it for years on my 914 (w/Vanagon hall distributor) zero problems.

Autozone or OReillys (forget which, maybe both) sells a spiral wound set of wires I'm pretty sure are Magnecor made, cheap. MUCH better than "modern" Bosch wire sets sold for T1s/T4s/WBX

The matching lowZ coil can be used with any properly programmable dwell ignition setup, or even used w/points or a Compufire triggering the Vanagon Golf coil driver---Likely ~best ignition upgrade short of ditching the distributor entirely.

And to keep with the off topicness I run a vanagon rotor in one of my late distributors because it from what I have heard has less resistance or better noise suppression (better at FM band than AM) than the early rotors.

It drops in and hasn't failed in mild CDI use, then again stock rotors have never been a problem w/CDI in my experience.

I've only had mine in operation for about a month or so, so I can't really comment on longevity. I have put about 1500 miles on the car with the new ignition system. The boots at the coil end fit nice and tightly to the LS2 body and no water has intruded in (or salt for that matter). I am pairing them with Denso Iridium plugs and everything looked perfect last weekend when I pulled the #4 plug to check it out.

So far, so good. And no interference with the radio even on AM.

Don't forget the Milk of Magnesia, I've had my iridium plugs in so long I'm afraid to pull them out...

I had the last set of the same irridium plugs in since going to MS 5 years ago. Other than some slight erosion on the tip of the electrode, they looked great and worked flawlessly. Nothing but iridium plugs for me in my MS powered cars!!

Virtually all late model vehicles come with them from the factory.
They fire hotter than platinums and last ~forever

They don't even cost much more these days.

I haven't installed a plug in any vehicle I've owned except my buggy in the last 20 years.

Put a good set of iridiums in it and you may make it another 20 in the buggy...
Newer cars typically have them, so regular plug changes have become a thing of the past.

They hold up, esp compared to ...everything else...particularly well on boosted engines.

Just don't forget a drop of MoM, just so you can pull them back out occasionally for a peek.

Aircooled is also harder on plugs, iridiums seem to shrug it all off.

Also note you can get a 11" Harley twincam plug wire at any HD dealer for ~$4.
Pops right on LS2 coils. (oddly the short wire version of the same app is ~$11)

I shortened them and put some long straight ends on it from a used set of Ford wires, but the Accel bits work fine, just cost actual money--the silicone ends are ~forever.

Only works if you have the coils within 11" of the plugs of course, the Vanagon wires are much longer.
