Ok, i'll have to ask about the wiring that how its done, when installing two IGN-4A coils to 4-cyl engine. At first, Autotune.fi thought about making modifications for two wasted spark coils.

If you can ever find someone who actually sells IGN-4A coils, please let us know.-Alex77- wrote:Ok, i'll have to ask about the wiring that how its done, when installing two IGN-4A coils to 4-cyl engine. At first, Autotune.fi thought about making modifications for two wasted spark coils.
So far no web site actually lists them as for sale, including the individual who keeps bringing them up as a great option.
Needing to know some secret handshake to buy parts or even find out specs or how much they cost is ridiculous.

OK, I guess they can't be bothered adding them to their websites.
That seems a very reasonable price, assuming they work as well as the IGN4.

YOUR statement (PILE) is in VERY BAD taste, I was asked to STOP and did so !
NOW for YOUR answer, in good taste, those who sell MY coils have the right for ME NOT TO COMPETE with my own advertisements.
The guys at DIY, Mat and Ben, can provide these coils to YOU if requested.

Lance, my annoyance is at them in that case, as they also do not list or discuss the part.
It has come up in discussion several times on the MSExtra site with no information volunteered.
I understand a do not compete supplier agreement, but no one lists them and it seems everyone is keeping it a secret.

IGN4A coils have same outer appearance as vw 2.0 coil 2000-
At the moment (6 pin) connectors are not yet available, but is there source for vw 2.0 coil connectors somewhere? VW? Bosch?

Hi Alex, yes you are correct.
The "footprint" is the same, our coil is made at our factory using my chosen internal changes for improved performance.
The above knowledge should help you find a connector sooner.
What is the 'street' price for that coil ?
Remember Alex, my work here is to save money for the users here AND provide quality items.
Thus no "shame" on your work, a good report.

Hello, the price for vw coil is from $50 to over $100, the cheapest ones are usually non oem and the more expensive are oem coils or german made.

There is also OKADA coil, and the price is nuts

Looks like IGN4A is the best choice considering energy / price

I personally don't use COPs of any description for this very reason not to mention it's unnecessary over complicationPiledriver wrote: My only personal experience with VAG coils is with the COPS, and they are frequently called "10K coils" for good reason...
It's how long they are good for if you are lucky.

Do i need a cam sensor, when using these IGN4A coils? As they are not wasted spark coils. If so, how have you done the cam sensor setup? I'v seen cam sensor setup like this, drilled hole near oilpump and M5 bolt to cam gear:

wow i like that solution
IGN-4A Coils for dual plug 2789cc engine with MS3?
Hi Alex, NO you would not require a CS to fire TWO of the IGN-4A coils at once, just the channel "TTL" signal level connection.
This is NOT Waste Spark, just that each coil would fire once at TDC Compression/Overlap.
NOW for what I do with the ECU-882 is to "offset" the cylinder channel for top/bottom by 9 degrees.
THIS method is similar to "twin-mag" spark strategy used on many aircraft engines.
THIS method produces a LONG spark inside the combustion chamber good for low RPM performance.

I would think 2 4-tower coils firing in true wasted spark mode, essentially wired in parallel ( coil A for plug set A - coil B for plug set B) would be a cleaner and simpler install then trying to handle 8 individual coils... And you would have your redundancy...
