Hi there,

I am considering using LS2 coils for my oxyboxer engine, and was wondering if there are any pictures out there of any engines with such colis installed? I dont have any coils at hand for mock-up, so it is always good to see how others have solved things

The setup RonW came up with for his T4 works well, I ~copied it but all I have is a weak pic of his whole setup that doesn't show the details. The coils basically mount to the manifolds--- works on anything other than a Bug where you have no clearance.

Basically, its a bent bit of sheetmetal that connects to the manifold via the stock injector mounting studs, and sits horizontal...
(could be mounted a hundred different ways, I think he used the bolts for the carbs or TBs))

The LS2 (std, not truck) are held down with long bolts into the plate, and spacers are used to separate them.
Found a better picture:

Was Googling LS2 truck coil bracket ideas and stumbled across this, which was a "wtf didn't i think of that?" moment.

The coils live in steel emi noise suppression cages, which can come off...
Steel cages can be welded to stuff, and the coils reinserted.
One does not have to copy the design, which has little use for an ACVW, but the idea works.
The coils can be replaced w/o damaging the cages, so its time to dig mine out of storage.

That thread also has a link of Taylor 46069 crimp-on plug wire ends for ls2 coils, about $15 and use any plug wires you like.(coil end only, contains 8 )

I did mine like this.
Riv nuts into the sheet metal, rubber insulators into the riv nuts and the coils on the insulators.

I finally broke down last weekend and wanted to try the LS2 truck coils I have.
Electrically they are plug-and-play but the mounts aren't compatible with the current LS2 coils.

So I spent $4......

I'll probably simply grind one of the mount ears off so I can center the clamp better.
