I just picked up something VERY interesting from my mail...
Time to go play.

zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

this article has a picture of CB's cam sync. I really don't understand why they don't offer one with a 16-1 wheel or whatever will fit. has anyone messed with one of these? can that 1 tooth wheel be removed and replaced with multi tooth wheel?

Any ACVW. Allows sequential on any 4 cylinder. 12-1 might work for the 911 folk as well?juki48 wrote:hey, what's that go in?MarioVelotta wrote:Here is my solution for a toothed wheel. Only 12-1 but better than a dizzy
(particularly if one manage to make the 50% duty teeth pattern)
the current single tooth unit is almost too small...

I'm curious about this 50% pattern. I haven't heard of triggering on the rising and falling edge before. Is that an option for us? I have no issue changing the drawing for a 50/50 pattern if it will beneficial to us.Piledriver wrote:Any ACVW. Allows sequential on any 4 cylinder. 12-1 might work for the 911 folk as well?

Can you add a little depth to the single tooth being to small. I have other magnets that open the window, I installed the weakest one.
Thanks for your help on this, I really appreciate it!

MS3 lacks the option, but IIRC MS2-extra has the option to trigger on both edges for that reason.MarioVelotta wrote:I'm curious about this 50% pattern. (Either that or I'm getting old and CRS)
I should have been clearer---The "too small" thing was about being hard to line up with the dist drive, the slop in an old distributor make it easier to actually "feel" and line everything up to get it to drop into the slot.
The sensor is so tiny and has zero play and ~zero friction, harder to line up.
Was actually much easier to install with no clamp, thus the grubscrew idea.

Ah I see. The oil seal that is being installed will add some friction to the shaft so it will stay where you put it. I really like the grub screw idea, just not sure how I can make that happen but I will look into it a bit more.

Getting one that spreads the body slightly to clamp in the case instead of the factory clamp. It would a bit of clever engineering in this case.Devastator wrote:Grub screw? What grub screw?

You might consider some sort of camlock instead, using an eccentric screw head. Look at the Mitee-Bite webpage for inspiration. They sell several eccentric clamping accessories.
