VR bracket

Post by MarioVelotta »

It's been dead here so I was working on a little bracket and thought I would share.

It's just a quicky bracket for the Boost Engineering setup. I took a couple of quick measurements last night and today I drew up a simple bracket and cut it out. It's kinda in the wrong spot but I'll work on that tomorrow, all part of the process of R&D :) It needs to move about .5" right and back so sit at TDC vertically. I would really like to clock it 20 degrees to have it on the pulley generator centerline to keep it as far from the belt as possible.

While making this I also came up with another Idea to mount the DIY hall sensor in about the same location for those that want to switch over! I may try and make a tester one of those too. I'm not sure if I'll have enough time though.

I understand the belt clearance issue, I ended up having to notch my bracket so the belt wouldn't hit it. Knocked a couple teeth off the belt before I realized there was a problem.

Sure, I'll take one. Gotta be better quality than my drunken attempt at MIG welding.

How about a second mounting point, if that case nut comes loose you're stranded.

I know someone will post how his has been working for years and the nut has never come loose, but I like things over engineered.

Besides, everyone know you don't buy until something is at rev 6 or better!
I accidentally Googled my Twitter. (And I liked it)
