Bus tank with a Bug gauge HELP!!!!!

Post by ejbbal21 »

I have a early bus, 67 I think. Its the one with 5 bolt that hold the sender in place. I have it in my BAJA and have a aftermarket VDO bug fuel gauge. They don't seem to get along very well. What can I, or is there anything that I can do to get them to play nice and tell me how much gas I have in the tank? It really sucks calling my wife because I ran out of gas. Any help would be great.

Can't use a balance coil sender with a thermal gauge, simplest solution would probably be to get a pre`73 Bus or 'Ghia gauge.

Does VDO make a fuel gauge for a bus? In my Baja all I have is the VDO cockpit style guages. Thanks for your Help.

Not to my knowledge. You could probably use the VDO 221-012 sender with a "Bug" VDO gauge.
