New starter and engine, starter doesn't seem to be engaging

Post by GardenRoots »

Hey guys i just put a new starter and a new engine in my car. However when i turn the ignition, nothing happens! I have enough volts running to the wires connected to the starter but for some reason it doesn't engage. The armature doest kick out and engage the fly wheel. Any ideas?
P.S. New engine has an alternator instread of a generator

What have you checked and how did you check it?
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

hotwire the starter - run a wire from the battery + terminal to the SMALL wire on the starter. If it works then your ignition switch could be bad.

Nah it's not clicking.
And I will try hotwiring it in a few minutes. Thanks

Check the battery to see if you have enough voltage/amperage to push it?
