DesertGuy you may very well be able to reuse your existing panel with a little cleanup and just build yourself a new harness and tidy up the gauge cluster

OUCH!

i see 2 major infractions allready the green wire heading thru the hole with no grommet and the uninsulated splice just hanging there

save the little 6 circuit panel don't pitch it you can re use it

this is one of the methods of getting out of the tunnel in a buggy in a sedan i usually come out of the tunnel on the side so it puts me more in the battery area

Image

this a typical front entrance to the tunnel in a steel bodied sedan i jump into the tunnel ahead of the front firewall ...don't forget a grommet for your conduit

none of these methods are set in stone they are just suggestions

this is a typical entrance into a front area on a stock bodied car or a baja

Here's the rats nest I started with...

I started by yanking out ALL the wiring.
Image

Then cleaned things up a bit. Have to eat off a clean plate, right?
Image

After I received the kit, I laid it out.

Figured I should start with the fuseblock. This is the best piece of the kit, IMO. You can buy it at Jegs or Summit, I believe.
I fabbed a piece of 10 gauge and rounded the sharp corners, then gave it a shot of silver rustoleum.

A closeup view, before I rounded the corners
