Classic porsche action - Specials and skiing

Post by petew »

I came across this vid on another forum. On the face of it, it's not that interesting until you look closely at the cars it features...

It features a number of important porsche powered specials from the era. I think one of them is the Glockler, the car that inspired the 550, which also is in the vid.

Oh man, did those guys have a pair back in those days...crazy stuff.

I saw this a couple of years ago. You can really see the future of the 911 rooflines laid out in this car about 1:32 into the video:

It's a 1960 Carrera GTL Abarth Clone. I didn't even know Abarth was involved with anything Porsche up until seeing that.

At least the Porsche ski dudes probably had some Idea of the risks.

This is old, and I'm sure you've all seen it, but I'll post it anyway...

Thin tires, swing axles, no helmets or belts, picnic basket in the back..Hey honey, let's drive the Nurburgring!

I haven't seen that one. Painful to watch those "would be" classics getting banged up. That dude at 1:40 is the luckiest person in the world...cheese and rice.
