... for free. If I ever get around to installing this EJ20 sohc I have laying around, it would be the obvious choice for a tranny. However, I have a swingaxle Bug. Does anyone make combination cv joint/swingaxle axles, or would I have to butcher my pan and weld in an IRS back half to use the Subie trans?

What are the "TY" numbers on the bell housing of the Subie trans????

The Subagears reverse R/P is a cool deal but you will have some good money into it.

I would think an IRS conversion would be the logical choice.

Pretty sure welding in the trailing arm mounts isn't that big of an ordeal. A little nip and tuck action would probably do just fine.

The only truly hard part is getting a good set of jigs for the inner TA mounts, and access.
Its doable in the car.
It's fast and easy if the body is off.
