Re: shifter
Did this problem occur after you replaced the bushing or was the bushing replacement an attempt to repair the problem? If it worked before you replaced the bushing I would remove the shift rod and install an adjuster,

Re: shifter
I'm assuming this is a rear-engine trike - if it's mid-engine your shifter setup is totally different than stock.
If your shifter uses the stock-style Reverse lockout plate, it needs to be installed so that the little "ski-jump" ramp is up and to the right, like this:

If that's correct, adjustment follows the procedure(s) here:

You probably have some sort of custom shift rod in your trike and it may be tweaked, in which case the aftermarket adjustable section may help. But first take a close look at the coupler between the rod and the "hockey stick" that goes into the trans nosecone, they've been known to work loose and become misindexed - you don't necessarily need a new coupler, often all it takes is a small weld to correct the problem. Double check that the setscrew(s) on the coupler are properly seated in the divot(s) provided for it/them in the hockey stick (and shift rod if it's pre`65 style).
