I learned a trick from an experienced mechanic.
When calling to buy a disk brake kit --- I was concerned that we could find consumables & kits...
The seller laughed!
He suggested something fantastic...
Take it to an industrial seal and bearing house..
They're used to cross-referencing unknown seals, bearings, orings etc.
His point was that they could take the guess work out of it.. give you better parts.. and charge you less.... plus allow you to support a local business.
Thanks Bill W

One problem....be very very very careful. I have dealt with many excellent seal and bearing houses. As a rule, few of them know the exact composition of a lot of their seals. They only know what hydraulic oil systems the book says they should be compatible with.
What we are dealing with...in caliper seals...IS hydraulic...but does not use standard hydraulic oil. I have had numdrous hydraulic clutch failures sourcing seals this way. It must be known to be EPR rubber...or at worst EPDM. Ray
