Has anybody ever used one of those stitch welders that use the 1/16 rods for sheetmetal? I saw they are on sale for $30 at HF and Have always wondered if they work. I am going there later today to get an auto darkening helmet anyway, figured I would only be out $30 if it doesnt work.

You are joking right?
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

Just send me the 30 bucks you will be out and I will put it to good use.

Re: Stitch Welder?
Stitch welders have been around for a long time, I remember seeing them advertized in JC Whitney’s catalog as a kid and you know how old I am.
Some are powered by a separate power source and some hook to your arc welder. They advertise them to be able to weld very thin metals. I have neither actually seen one nor have I seen the results of the use of one.
Like the Dog bone wrench (a knuckle buster from along ago which was again popular as a Christmas preasent idea this year) come up for sale every so often There are many of these ideas from the past that keep coming up (like the multitip spark plug, the little plastic supercharger that goes between the base of the carb and the intake manifold, etc..
I wonder if they, like the welder for plastics (which I have never seen or seen the use of) are in the same class of fun stuff that are either not practical, a gimmick, or are a money making gimmick that may or may not work as/as well as advertized.

I'm not familiar with Eastwood (I can't help it, I'm Dutch) but from looking on youtube I can tell they have more 'fantastic' tools.
Here is another Eastwood movie about tools, all you need:

Just one example...
Though I was going to have to break Mrs. Santa's check writing arm to keep her from getting me one for Christmas...

give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.
