Re: Welding Projects & Pictures
None of this is very extensive, but I'm learning.
Patch piece manufactured to fix rusted out section between wheel well and package shelf.
Cut out battery tray section of pan
Tacked in new section
What you can't see in these two pictures is that I've welded up all of the trim holes

Re: Welding Projects & Pictures
Looking at those beads brings back memory when I was learning to weld.
Look fellas, practice on other pieces of metals and get good running beads. Try thin materials to thick materials.
Spot the piece into place and then run the bead. Over time you will be able to judge how long you should lay the bead before you come out on the other side.
Also, most important is the root pass. It has to be absolutely clean. The root pass will make or break the strength of the weldment.

give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

I bult those about 10+ yrs ago for a friend's Land Rover. No dimensions, sorry. I used Chain link pieces for the straps. He said it all worked quite well.fusername wrote:got dimensiosn on the jerry can carrier? any close ups of the strap anchors on it? gonna make something myself, but can't quite figure out how to lay it out. lemme know how you like yours in practice
