Frameless Popouts, got 'em installed - finally

Post by mechmitch »

Finally finished (mostly) with a pair of frameless popouts for the chopbug. I wanted popouts but that wasn't an option with a chop. I used the front hinge hardware and seals from a Subaru Justy but most any car would work. I used the stock bug handle but the Subaru one would probably have worked. The template for the glass was made out of masonite. The glass guy cut the glass and the holes then sent it to be tempered. Although I am sure others have done this on bugs, I have just never seen one. Anyone else out there :?:

Nice clean job there. I know someone at www.volksrods.com/forums is planinng on making popouts in his chop too (still a project in waiting). Stop by that forum if you haven't yet. I'm sure they'll appreciate your pop-outs as well 8)

How much did the glass cost you to be cut, etc?
