Proper Firewall

Post by TOOF »

I was surprised there wasn't more separating the cabin from the gas tank. I hit up google for a price of metal to weld in and couldn't find anything.

30 minutes with some cardboard and 15 minutes of plasma torch cutting.

It came out nice for not having to break a sweat.

That looks really good. Does it have sides that go back into the door pillar area too? I guess you'll need to do wiring from the dashboard side.

I want to do the same thing to my 68 Sedan. Mostly for sound control and to tidy up the trunk area.

P.S. Don't forget clearance for the hood hinges!

Looks and the fit is lookin' good Dean but, for what it is worth, when you see beading... it is there for a strength reason. The same for flanging.
