Interchange manual?

Wondering if there is any type of a parts interchange manual available for the Vanagon? I'm working on our 82 AC Camper and have a chance to pick up an 84 (blown engine) for almost nothing and was hoping to find that body parts, such as the sliding door and door handles/latches would interchange. Looked through several parts sites and see that there was some change in 85-up, but 84-down appears to be all the same. Am I correct?

Have a look at www.vagcat.com and note part numbers. There are changes from aircooled to watercooled in terms of drivetrain, most body parts should be the same.

Thanks. I'll give the site a look. From memory jarring and reading I'm pretty certain changes were done in 85, so I should be good to go with the parts van.
