Orange Peel? Need help

Hello this is my first post and need some help. I am preping my 68 bug for paint by priming and blocking. My question is why does my primer have so much orange peel in it. I have tried to adjust the gun and air pressure but no change. I'm using Duplicolor products and my gun is the gravity feed type? Thanks for the help.

There are several factors that can cause orange peel ,
1. primer being too thick, may need to be "reduced" or thinned
2. too low spray gun pressure, must be around 20-25 psi on a gravity feed gun and must use a 1.5mm and up tip needle
just to name a few..

I personally do not recommend 1k primer/ surfacer , go with a 2k primer/ surface (primer + activator/hardener)
it is way more durable and easier to sand , and you wont get swelling or sand scratches after its painted. its worth the extra bucks!

I've only experienced orange peel when I have pressure to high.

I will try to lower the pressure and also may try thinning out a little.

Either to low of pressure or primer to thick.
Simple.
