I am soooo bummed... I am trying to make my SandRail 4 wheel drive and the rally bug would have been perfect.. Is there anyway to get a 091 modified again or was that a one of a kind?

The new Mendeola 6 speed sequential, or 5 speed manual (same new box) has an optional shaft output for a front shaft from what I have been told.

A trans and front diff from a Synchro Vanagon would probably work...
(basically same trans/mods except from the factory, and probably a 5 speed)

Cable shifter of some sort (or possibly modified Vanagon shifter setup) be required, as well as a master cyl for the hydraulic clutch.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

synchro is a 5 speed, but tis a granny gear, 5th is really 4th. you would need a cable shifter as its a side shift and uses a big bulky hard link on the factory setup which would be hard or impossible to use in a bug if the tunnel still was there. also expect to spend big money on the trans, those drivelines are hard to piece together, a spendola is in its own price bracket, but a syncrho will still need to be rebuilt even after you buy one for 800-1200 bucks
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

Things are rarely just crazy enough to work, but they're frequently just crazy enough to fail hilariously.

Is this sold or not?
If not, does it come with log books?
Is it in Oregon?

Title was changed to
"awd rally bug for sale SOLD!" so I would assume so...

VERY nice car. I had the privilege to see the car run with the original owner and with Chris driving.
The thought put into the car (way back when) is amazing. I had a chance to buy the car, but glad I did not.
Only because I wouldn't have given the car it's true glory were it need's to be.
