1.9L crank in a T1

Post by H2OSB »

Greetings

I have a question for those of you knowledgeable about installing WBX cranks into T1 blocks. I'm curious if there would be any downside to building a T1 up using a 1.9L WBX crank, with the ultimate goal of building an engine with a 2.1L crank? In other words, would the machining done to install the 69mm WBX crank be the same as the 76.4mm crank? I would prefer to just build up and engine with the 2.1L crank, but they're a bit more difficult to find (for a price that a cheap ass like myself can live with). I've found several 69mm WBX cranks for very low cost, and figure I could prepare the block and build an engine using one of those and hold out for that one good deal that pops up for a 76.4mm crank...assuming the machine work is the same.

Thanks in advance
